About B&B Jardín de los Monos

This was our second stay at Jardín de los Monos in Matapalo, and once again everything was absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, everything was tip-top and wonderfully taken care of.
We loved starting the day with a delicious breakfast (luckily no gallo pinto 😉 – because you can get that everywhere), and the location is ideal — just a short walk to the beach. As the cherry on top, we were treated to incredible wildlife sightings: monkeys right on the property and even a sloth with her baby!
The place is beautifully quiet, surrounded by jungle and filled with soothing natural sounds.
Lettika and Team, thank you once again for everything. We felt completely at home and can’t wait to come back. See you soon!

Good: Rooms were spacious, bed super comfortable (loved the softness of the sheets), really nice shower and lots of space outside to relax. The pool area was so nice, we could’ve stay there all day. Breakfast was delicious, we loved the Dutch pancakes and bread. The owner and Teddy were super friendly and helpful as well. Finally the location is perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful place, surrounded by nature and animals and just 2 mins from the beach. We’ll miss this place so much!

Good: Wonderful and relaxing. The beds were SO comfortable and the rooms were big! We loved feeling like we were in a quiet piece of paradise, hanging out on the hammock, walking to the beach and watching the monkeys each afternoon. We were able to see the Capuchin two out of the three nights there and we woke up before breakfast one morning and saw a sloth in the trees around the property. The pool is a lovely cooldown after a long day and the place never feels crowded. The breakfast was “simple” but perfected and personal. It felt like a real luxurious vacation where we didn’t have to worry about a thing. You do need a car. That is the best way to enjoy and not feel trapped but that is very clearly stated by the hosts and others.

We had a fantastic time at Lettika’s place in Matapalo!! Super clean accommodations, great breakfasts, kind staff and a stunning beach just footsteps away. Plentiful wildlife right on sight and down the road on the beach. Sloths, white faced monkey’s playing on the rooftops every day as you watch them from the pool, butterflies, etc… not to mention beautiful landscaping her and her hubby have put in and a nice breakfast. To nutshell: a very good experience. Absolutely on our list of places to return to. And she was a great host. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay at Jardin de los Monos over Christmas. The room was perfectly sized for two people. We appreciated the air conditioning at night and the bed was comfortable. Plus, how can you go wrong when there are sloths and monkeys near you! The breakfast is outstanding! Don’t miss it. We had activities planned each day while we stayed and it was a great location to keep driving each day to a reasonable amount of time. We went diving/snorkeling in Uvita, hiking in Manuel Antonio, and white water rafting with Rafiki Lodge. There were a lot of really great restaurants near by too. The staff was wonderful!

An idyllic and relaxing setting in beautiful grounds, with sloths and monkeys on your doorstep and only a stone’s throw from the long, sandy beach, where you can marvel at the beautiful sunsets in the evening. The rooms are comfy and there is a delightful swimming pool from where you can watch the monkeys, birds and butterflies in the trees. Lettika and her staff, Teddy and Dama, were very helpful and kind and we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights stay.

Close to beach. This is a luxury bed and breakfast with beautiful gardens, pool and 2 minute walk to beach. What a bargain and blessing to find this place. The owner and staff are one of a kind-AMAZING! Our favorite lodging in our 10-night Costa Rica vacation.
